NeveN

I am just starting the game...and the suspense is killing me. Does the protagonist ever get chosen by a god? The music is gorgeous so far, and I'm looking forward to experiencing the story as I play

So, NeveN.

This VN surprised me a lot with it's quality, at first I expected Erik to be another horny bard archetype that has infested fantasy genre recently and presumed the story would a sex fest with excuse for plot, God how glad I was wrong at that presumption, NeveN proved itself to be a very compelling story like few others can tell. 

The world of NeveN, Telsan , at first looks very standard low fantasy medieval world inspired by D&D but instead of trying to reinvent the wheel NeveN goes in a more subtle direction by focusing on it's own original concept, brands, and then spin the story around those. That gives NeveN it's own identity by having the brands be in every living sentient being and even tho they can be very impressive they never feel like is reaching an absurd level.

Presentation wise NeveN really sets the tone well with the usage of more muted and cold backgrounds that really sets the tone of Frostfang, the country the story takes place. For the art art NeveN's sprites might not be as eye candy as many other FVNs but I think it has it's own charm, I guarantee you will fall in love with those characters and start appreciating the details in their artwork, pttw17 the artist did an amazing job giving each character it's own unique design bring out the character personality out.

As for music NeveN does a very rare thing in story revolving bards and actually have songs sung by Erik in both English and French and my God they are delight to hear and makes Erik actually truly a bard. Outside of the vocal songs the ambience used for the story isn't that long of a list but perfectly fits each of the moments they are used in.

But now the big, and to me most important part, the romance and their routes. As you can see in the page there four listed main characters each of them is a love interest and it's own route, to avoid spoilers and letting my favoritism for Vekad cloud my judgment I will give a brief opinion on each route.

Vekad: Ah my favorite deer and the one that makes deer look way more interesting for me, Vekad route is by a hundred miles my favorite one and one of my favorite romances, his grumpy and very anti social personality mixed with Erik's own tendency to annoy people until they either hate or like him is a joy to see.

Maelbjorn: The big teddy bear is at first quite hard to approach because of his status and all the weight it brings to him but seeing him open up more to Erik is a joy to see.

Tenoch: A surprisingly more deep character then first expected but also he doesn't fall for the trope of having his desires being his sole character flaw.

Akhet: If you want the most sweetest and clumsy man in all Telsan there is no one better then Akhet to fulfill that need.

I highly suggest playing thru every route if possible. it adds so much to the story and the world itself giving you the full picture of everything but also to enjoy my favorite aspect of NeveN which is Erik's development changing him immensely throughout each route.

In conclusion the world written by Argolath and Nev is one that brought me so much joy from reading it and I really can't stress enough to give it a chance to prove it self for you, you won't be disappointed.

I feel like it got cut off, did I miss some things? Did all the other Avatars get killed, what about the revenge and resolve of Mekad. Did the kings not get well, or pass on to the Land of Tess? Speaking of Tess... I thought it was an objective to kill him too, Greatly disappointed that alot of loose ends don't get met, feel cheated on the story. 

I think it's a good VN. Maybe over bloated with remarks between dialog phrases, but it's okay.  But the fonts, the FONTS in choices and in Names, it so painful! My eyes burns and melting, It's so difficult to read especially in scenes with limited time to answer. I literally reloaded about fifteen or more times just to figure out what is written in choices in bard competition scene. I'm so glad there was the option to change fonts at least in dialogue box.

When xou guys first started dividing the routes and making them each their own, I honestly had no idea how x’all would bring the story together, but woooow, these last four updates were sooo heckin’ cool! 🤯 Omg

I’ve enjoyed each update since the first release but xou guys really outdid xourselves with how xou brought it all together 😊 I gobbled up these updates and was well fed! 😁

There are not a lot of other VNs where each route feels like it’s own thing, it simply feels like they replace the love interest and everything plays out the same, but with NeveN, it’s so REAL 💪🏻

This is how life works. People change xou, maybe not always on a fundamental level, but when xou fall in love with someone xou sorta melded together and xou take on the parts of them xou like, and I think xou guys did a fantastic job with the main character’s evolution 🙌🏻

I really can’t praise xou enough for the way xou’ve structured NeveN as a whole. There are no sections that feel like “fillers”, there is purpose behind every lull in pacing, meaning behind every character brought in, and a relatability to these characters.

I think that’s what I love most. I adore well fleshed out characters - even the ones in the background because they have lives of their own, yeah? - so it makes this world xou guys have created feel real. People die, people can be rash, villains have meaning behind their actions, people have complex feelings.

Thank xou for sharing this story with us 💜 I’m so excited to see where it goes from here 😁

Is there weight gain

Hi! I just wanted to thank you for all the effort and hard work you put into this masterpiece of storytelling. I’ve just finished Tenoch’s route, and I genuinely enjoyed his company.

SPOILERS ALERT

There is, however, one thing I can’t quite let go of. During the bath scene, when the characters are playing a drinking game, we drink because the protagonist believes he killed Viggo. This confused me a bit. Viggo felt like a “ghost of the past” to me, so I assumed he was already dead — as ghosts of the past usually are. Because of that, I didn’t fully understand why this revelation wasn’t more shocking for the protagonist. I feel like I may have missed something, especially since English isn’t my native language.

I discovered this VN but a week ago, and didn't really have my hopes up because I knew nothing about the project, never heard of it before. So I went in completely blind. And wow, I've been surprised for the best.

I've only played Vekad's route so far, but wow. I'm really enjoying the pacing of the story and the way the different characters interact between each other. You're very good at conveying emotions, and I both smiled and felt ward inside and felt absolute dread in some parts of the story.

I'll give a more extensive review when I'm done with the other routes, but make sure I'll be staying for the long run! Great work!

I’d really like to applaud the diversity of this VN, because not only is each route fleshed out enough to show off each of the handsome boys very well, but the reader is able to tell the entire story as a whole through reading all four routes together in such a unique way that each path plays off of the another in a very satisfying way 😁

I’ve found myself more and more impressed with each update, and with these last four, the style in which xou tell this story really shines. I was able to pick out details from each route that relates to another and it’s not in an overly obvious way, sknibthink xou guys did an incredible job 😊 the way the story comes back together after each route became its own tale? It’s absolutely brilliant 😌

Hello, NeveN team! I hope you are all doing well. I found a bug in the newest build of NeveN. After Erik/ the mc says, "Everyone saw him face our best warrior, a bearer of the brand of Arakar, and use his powers in a unique and inventive way." there is the French version of the same line of dialogue in between it and Erik's/the mc's following line of dialogue.

Oooh boy, For the entirety of this VN, I've been calling Tenoch, Jenoch. Silly T's and J's looking so similar because of the font. Anyways, this VN was an excellent read. I hope to see more of Vekad soon. Cheers!

Usually i only doing the route of character that i really like, but its the first vn that i planning to doing all route for all the available characters (akhet left). Its just showing how amazing youre creating the story of each route.

I just have to say I started reading this the other night and I'm absolutely loving it so far, and as some people have pointed out I absolutely love how completely differently each of the routes ends up being I'd say my top two so far have gotta be Akhet and Maelbjorn they are just such a joy to see with their dynamics with Erik, fantastic work!

I’m sooo enraptured by the story! Omg 😁 it’s taken so many twists and turns to get to this point, and it only seems to get better with each update! 😌

I especially love how different each route is 😊 There was one point - I think it was at the end of chapter 7 - where I had no idea how all these different things could tie together, but as the story progresses, I find myself more and more impressed by just how much planning went into it 🙂

I am having a great time reading this story so far!!! I am so glad that I started reading this!

 The only suggestion that I have is maybe altering the grey borders around the text, I feel as it makes the words appear more blurry which causes a bit of strain on the eyes, maybe at least for the "Open Dyslexic" and "Base" font settings as those are often used by people who have vision impairments and dyslexia!

I am eager to see how everyone in Frostfang is reacting to Erik and Vekad being gone. Will we see what they are thinking and what they plan to do about it? Especially Akhet and Maelbjorn. That is what I really want to see in Vekad's route.

Probably my favorite VN currently -- the writing is engaging, the plot is interesting, and the characters are for the most part phenomenal. However I noticed a lot of typos in the English script; are there possibly any plans on to hire an editor or otherwise have someone go through the script and fix/point out any mistakes they see? While it is not a very big issue, I think it might still be worth dealing with at some point. Additionally (although I forget where exactly), I noticed a continuity issue where the main character references the priest acting as his teacher in Tenoch's route, even though this does not actually happen.

This VN is honestly phenomenal. I love the entire cast of charactersss I can't wait for more! :3

This vn is getting better and better with each update. Also I loved the beautiful vocals in the songs.  I love all the 4 routes with our four love interests with unique personalities. 

Though, there's a tiny problem that I experienced in the android version. The font doesn't seem to change from 'opendyslexic' to any other since last update. Kindly check this issue.

I am soooo very invested in each of the branching routes! 😯 Omg, it’s like, xou know when xou watch a really good TV series and are left anxiously excited for the next episode? That’s how NeveN makes me feel~ 😌

Xou guys are doing a TRULY amazing job 😁 I’m normally pretty good at deducing plots and predicting outcomes, but Ive been left pleasantly surprised with each route, in fact, I was so anxious with Vekad’s last update, coz I had absolutely NO idea where the story was going! 😅 I was literally on the edge of my seat

I just finished reading Maelbiorn's story yesterday and it was brilliant! When can I expect the next update, I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I REALLY enjoyed getting to spend time with all the boys again after waiting so long~ 😊 I absolutely looove how different each route is! It really leaves the reader guessing where the story might go! 😁 Amazing updates as always~

I’m also really happy with how xou guys found a way to incorporate Gilliant even though he’s not romancable. The way xou included his backstory was a very good writing choice, and not simply as a filler or as character building, but incorporating this scene was a great way to progress the story. It both makes the world feel fuller and distracts us from the primary storyline, which is a great way to pace the progression of the plot 😌

One last thing. I’d like to suggest a change in phrasing, if I may be so bold? When the MC refers to himself as “A prey”, it should rather be phrased simply as “Prey”. Saying things like: “Just because I’m prey doesn’t mean I can’t be strong!” makes more sense than him refering to himself as “A prey”. This word is used to describe both plural and singular beings, which means it doesn’t need an indefinite article.

Xou guys could alternatively say something along the lines of “Prey-kin”, which would align with xour “Anthroken” word. But all of this is just a suggestion! I’m a bit of a stickler for details, so it isn’t all that important in the grand scheme of things 😋
